Why is the Judgment Day date hidden from the humanity?

Here is an eternal question we would like to ak: when will the Judgment Day happen?

You are absolutely right. Everyone who genuinely believes in Allah, believes in the Judgment Day. Allah Almighty said in Surat “Al-Kahf”, ayat 21: “We caused them to be found that they [who found them] would know that the promise of Allah is truth and that of the Hour there is no doubt”.

The same idea is put forward more clearly in Surat Al-Araf, ayat 187: “They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly.” They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know." In Surat “Taha”, ayat 15, Allah explains why the Judgment Day date is concealed: “Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives.”

The words “Judgment Day” or “the Hour” is mentioned 49 times in the Holy Quran. What are the signs of Judgment Day? It is worth noting that there is a Surat called “Al-Qiyamah” (“Judgment Day”). There are 40 ayats in this Surat and it is all about the Judgment Day. We are citing ayats 6-9 of this Surat: “He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection? So when vision is dazzled. And the moon darkens. And the sun and the moon are joined.”

Some of our tribesmen maliciously ask when the Judgment Day will happen: “When will your Judgment Day be? You have been scrambling our brains for many centuries with it and it has never happened!” When the dark sets in, these doubters will thrash around crying: “Where can we hide and escape from this horror?”

The beginning of the Judgment Day can be an act of a soul leaving its body. There is an idea which is reiterated in Surats “Ali Imran”, “Al-Anbya” and “Al-Ankabut”: “Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. You will be tested by good and bad deeds. You will appear in front of Me only after this. Truly, nobody knows where and when he or she will die.”

The Judgment Day will take place when the angel Israfil blows the horn announcing the beginning of the Judgment Day as directed by Allah.
