Gratitude brings benefit

599

Once Isa (alayhi salaam) came to the rich man. He took the rich man to the poor man and said: "This poor man, your brother in religion. Almighty Allah exalted you above him in term of wealth. Therefore thank Allah".

Then he took the poor man to the patient, and turning to the poor man said, "Look, you're poor, but you at least not sick. What would happen if you were poor and sick? Therefore thank Allah for it".

Then he took the patient to a non-Muslim and turned to him and said, "Look! What if you were poor and sick, and also would not be a Muslim? Thank Allah for it". (Ruhul-Bayan 5/68)

Edification:

Gratitude is a necessity for everyone. Because everyone has countless benefits. Allah says:

وإن تعدوا نعمت الله لا تحصوها

"If you count the favors of Allah, you cannot count them" [1].

The greatest grace for man is faith. If a man has faith, but he will have the whole world, it will not bring him benefit. Because of this he can only be saved in this transitory life on earth, and in Ahirat he goes empty-handed. If a person for the grace of faith, will not raise his head from prostration, it will still be insufficient. Need a lot of thank the Almighty. After faith is the greatest blessing belonging to the community of Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him). For example, all the prophets did dua to be from his Ummah, but only the dua of Prophet Isa (alayhi salaam) was adopted.

Thinking about the good things, it is necessary to keep in mind and those facilitates that provide human conditions of life today. As a trivial example, public transport.

Gratitude is a tie for those goods that we have, and the network for future benefits. Gratitude, preventing the loss of wealth, is the cause of the increase.

Allah Almighty says:

وإذ تأذن ربكم لئن شكرتم لأزيدنكم

"And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe" [2].
