Duas for protection the Muslims

2050

These are duas one should commit to memory and teach our children and students so that they are able to protect themselves against the enemy.

Allah SWT tells us about the enemy: “The non-Muslims are the helpers and protectors of one another.” [Surah al Anfal, Chapter 8, verse 73]

The manifestation of this verse in today’s world is apparent in the carnage, massacre and holocaust carried out by the apartheid regime of Israel in the holy land of Gaza and Palestine. In Syria and surroundings, we witness the enemies of Islam, the Shias, Alawis and the disbelievers and what they have done to the Holy land of Shaam. In the heartland of Africa, the Central African Republic and Somalia, the Christians have perpetrated crimes against the Muslims. The Hindus of Kashmir, for many years are running a mock. In Myanmar, Burma the Bhuddists have committed untold atrocities against Muslims. In certain parts of China Muslims aren’t allowed to freely practice Islam. These occurrences indicate that the enemies of Islam have ganged up against the Muslims. And we are also to blame because of our sins, fragmentation and disunity. We create so many problems for ourselves. Through some dua we can Insha Allah protect ourselves, our families InshaAllah.

Dua 1 Nabi Moosa AS is such a mighty Messenger of Almighty Allah. Moosa AS name is mentioned 136 times in the Noble Quraan, the most among all the Messengers of Allah. When Moosa AS and his people were being tortured and massacred, Almighty Allah taught them a lesson. Nabi Moosa AS addressed his people and said, “If you believe in Almighty Allah from the bottom of your heart, unshakeable faith, then place your trust only in Him, if you are Muslims.” Outwardly you are meant to be Muslim and in your heart you are meant to have an unshakeable faith and Imaan and you place your trust in Allah SWT. Not in the United Nations, United States or United Kingdom. And then beg and recite the dua that Moosa AS taught His people. From Surah Yunus, Chapter 10, Verses 85 & 86.

So they said, “Only Upon Allah do we place our trust. Oh Our Lord, make us not [objects of] a trial for the wrongdoing people

And save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people.”

In verse 85, the word “only” comes about because ‘ala Allah is mentioned before the verb tawakkalna. This brings about the meaning of exclusivity – “upon Allah alone we place our trust.”  Repeat this three times.

Dua 2 When the people of Nabi Lut AS were involved in homosexual activities and sodomy – one of the worst crimes that one can commit, it is absolutely Haraam. Capital punishment applies to those who commit this crime. Nabi Lut AS cried to Allah SWT that the people around him did not want to listen to him. He begged Allah and asked for Allah SWT assistance against a people who were spreading sin and corruption, against the mischief makers – Surah Al Ankaboot, Verse 30:

He said, “My Lord, support me against the corrupting people.”

Almighty Allah assisted Nabi Lut AS and the signs of Allah stand clearly for humanity to see – the Dead Sea. The nation was punished. Nothing can survive in the Dead Sea. The Sea is filled with salt and is the lowest point on earth. Jibraeel AS picked up the nation and smashed it to the ground and it became the lowest point on this earth. The people were destroyed and decimated. May Almighty Allah destroy the enemies.

Dua 3 From the Ahadeeth there are three duas that Nabi Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) taught us. When the enemies are attacking us, on the verge of attacking us, preparing, galvanising, mobilising their armies, the dua to recite:

Allahumma inna naj’aluka fi nuhuurihim wa na’udhubika min shuruurihim

O Allah! We ask You to restrain them by their necks and we seek refuge in You from their evil

[Mishkaat]

There was this young man who became very famous that the king wanted to kill him. The king ordered his army to take the young man to the apex of the mountain and throw him down from there. The soldiers fell from the mountain and he returned to the king. The king then ordered that he be taken to the ocean to be drowned. He returned and the king’s people had drowned. He told the king that he couldn’t destroy him because he constantly read the following dua:

Allahummak-fineehim bima shi ’ta O Allah, protect me from them with what You choose. [Sahih Muslim]

The young man told the king if he wanted to kill him he needed to kill him and say the kalimah. When this happened the people that were present accepted Islam. Almighty Allah used this young man to promote Islam.

When the battle is about to begin and the armies are Nabi Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) taught us to read:

Oh Allah! Revealer of The Book, Controller and Dominator of the clouds, Defeater of the armies of Your enemies… and help us against them.

Dua 4 The dua from the end of Surah Baqarah:

Our Lord! Impose not on us that which we have not the strength to bear, grant us forgiveness and have mercy on us. You are our Protector. Help us against those who deny the truth. [Surah Baqarah:286]

May Almighty Allah assist the Muslims wherever they are and grant victory to our Mujahideen.
